The project EMIPO aims to develop investments and business partnerships in the region through the promotion of partner relationships, promotion of the region to foreign investors, training and technical assistance to entrepreneurs and projects incubations. At the same time the project evaluates and optimises the economic and social impact of international investments and partnerships through the EMIPO observatory, established by ANIMA already in 2003, which identifies investment and partnership projects of foreign companies in the MED countries.
To stimulate revenue growth and sustainable/balanced development, the project specifically targets civil society actors through a dialogue among economic players and increased ownership of incoming project, young people, who, encouraged by new job opportunities, gain a stronger social integration and better perspectives, and companies themselves, who will create stronger economic linkages, a better image and long term advantages (sustainability, social acceptance, competitiveness etc.)
Thus, in addition to the activities on the ground and the promotion of the Euro-Med region to attract FDIs, the EMIPO observatory carries out a continuous mapping providing public decision-makers with better tools to allow them to monitor and promote the economic integration and the impact that investment and business flows in the region have on inclusive growth.
Covering the whole Euro-Mediterranean region, the project of a total budget of 3,4 M EUR is largely funded by the European Commission with contributions from the PACA region and the City of Marseille.
