Energy & Climate Action

The Energy Division of the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfMS) will organise the first Extended Technical Committee meeting on Tuesday 29 April in Barcelona.

The participation of representatives from the UfM Member States, the League of Arab States, the European Union as well as from other stakeholders is expected.

The main objective of the meeting is to give a concrete and further impetus to the regional dialogue and to the technical cooperation in the Mediterranean region, as foreseen in the mandate of the UfMS Energy Division.

The development of a wind farm in Jordan, the creation of a Mediterranean water knowledge platform, a capacity building programme aimed at promoting civic education in schools and a programme aimed at stimulating green industries and entrepreneurship are the four new projects recently labelled by the UfM.
