The UfM Ministerial Meeting on Water will aim to provide further deepened political impetus to the definition of a future UfM Water Agenda. The objective of this Agenda would be to provide a consensual regional water policy framework that can lead to a substantial positive impact on the sustainable livelihood in the region. The UfM Ministerial Meeting will create an opportunity for the UfM Ministers responsible for Water to:

AFACOM (Association des Femmes arabes de la presse et de la communication) and ISESCO (Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) organise, in partnership with the Union for the Mediterranean the Conference entitled “Women of the Mediterranean against violent extremism”.
This conference is organised in the framework of the International Forum “The Euro-Mediterranean dialogue for women”, and it will take place in the French Senate, in Paris, on April 26 from 14:00 to 18:00.

The UfM Secretariat will participate in the “Ministerial Conference on Strengthening Euro-Mediterranean Cooperation through Research and Innovation” organised under the auspices of the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the European Union, by the Malta Council for Science and Technology within the Ministry for Education and Employment, and with the support of the European Commission.

The UfM Secretariat has partnered up with Lycée Français de Barcelone to implement an UfM stimulation program for youth, called DIA-MED/Barcelone (les Dialogues pour la Méditerranée de Barcelone).
This event takes the form of UfM model negotiation programme benefitting young students aged from 15 to 19, interested to develop capacities, enhance decision-making and shape better knowledge about the Mediterranean region.
