As part of its women empowerment strategy, UfM has labelled a leadership project called WoMED “next generation of leaders” for 22 young women from the Southern Mediterranean, which aims to improve their leadership capacities and gender equality skills. Twenty-five senior female high public officials from the Mediterranean countries meet in Barcelona to discuss the role of gender equality in various issues that the region faces.

Barcelona, 29 May 2015. Over the last year, the Réseau Mixité et Gouvernance has brought together women who hold senior positions within the civil service and the public sectors of various countries of the Mediterranean, with representatives from Egypt, France, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Slovenia and Tunisia.
