Transport & Urban Development

The award rewards the joint activity of the UfM, the Center for Transport Studies of the Western Mediterranean (CETMO) and the Mediterranean Universities Union (UNIMED) to raise awareness of the project and build the project framework.

Lecce (Italy), 12 October 2012. UfM project LOGISMEDTA received the prestigious RAILMED Award for Innovative International Projects in the field of transport during the International Forum “RAILMED, a Project for MEDA 2020”, celebrated in the Italian city of Lecce on 11-12 October 2012.

The six-year-term project will focus during the first phase on the training activities at the intermodal platforms in Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia, which will be in operation in 2015, and it will result in a more competitive and efficient network of Euro-Mediterranean logistic platforms.

The UfM Euro-Mediterranean Sustainable Urban Development Strategy Second Senior Official Experts (SOEs) Meeting was held in Barcelona on 25th May 2012 with the participation of 8 countries and 14 institutions.

Barcelona – The objective of this second meeting was to continue the work on the formulation of the UfM Euro-Mediterranean Sustainable Urban Development Strategy, by the Senior Official Experts with the support of the Secretariat, as entrusted by the First UfM Ministerial Conference on Sustainable Urban Development, held in Strasbourg in November 2011.
