{"id":22760,"date":"2016-04-15T14:40:39","date_gmt":"2016-04-15T13:40:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ufmsecretariat.org\/plastic-busters-donors-meeting-2\/"},"modified":"2016-12-13T12:39:39","modified_gmt":"2016-12-13T11:39:39","slug":"plastic-busters-donors-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ufmsecretariat.org\/ar\/plastic-busters-donors-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"Plastic Busters: Donors\u2019 meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Siena, Italy, 15th of April 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With the support of GIZ (<em>Deutsche Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Internationale Zusammenarbeit<\/em>), the University of Siena and UN-SDSN, as leader of the UfM labelled project \u201c<strong>Plastic-Busters for a Mediterranean free from litter<\/strong>\u201d, are organizing the donors\u2019 meeting in Siena, Italy, on 15th of April 2016. The meeting\u00b4s objective will be to fine-tune the partnering strategy and fundraising for the project, call for support from interested donors and promptly advance towards implementation of this urgent regional action.<\/p>\n<p>The event will be held at the Palazzo del Rettorato of the University of Siena.<\/p>\n<p>The labelling of this important project took place at the <a title=\"UfM Senior Officials Meeting (SOM)\" href=\"https:\/\/ufmsecretariat.org\/ar\/ufm-senior-officials-meeting-som-2\/\">SOM meeting of the 16<sup>th<\/sup> February 2016<\/a>, considered as a strategic moment for marine litter for its relevance and urgency is clearly reflected in the Mediterranean and international agendas, including the G-7.<\/p>\n<p>A strong momentum was created by the two <a title=\"UfM Ministerial on Blue Economy\" href=\"https:\/\/ufmsecretariat.org\/ar\/ufm-ministerial-on-blue-economy\/\">UfM Ministerial Declarations on Blue Economy<\/a>, as well as on ENV and CC, respectively endorsed by the 43 UfM countries in November 2015 and in May 2014.
