22-24 November 2017, Barcelona.<\/strong> -The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) co-organise, together with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization \u00a0(UNIDO<\/a><\/strong>) and the Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME<\/a><\/strong>) the \u201cWomen and Entrepreneurship & Investment program 2017\u201d<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0workshop within the framework of the MedaWeek Barcelona, a leading business and investment event.<\/p>\n

The event will take place from Wednesday, 22 November to Friday, 24 November 2017 at Casa Llotja de Mar, Barcelona, Spain.<\/p>\n

WEIP WORKSHOP: Special Session with Buyers \u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Buyers\u2019 Workshop is \u00a0jointly organized by\u00a0UfM,\u00a0<\/a>UNIDO\u00a0<\/a>and\u00a0ASCAME<\/a>. This special session is dedicated to women entrepreneurs in the Mediterranean, and will shed light on\u00a0the challenges they face in terms of access to market and on how to identify and seize market opportunities.<\/p>\n

Concretely, this session will first give the opportunity to women entrepreneurs from the MENA region, as well as from Europe, to share their experiences\/success stories and to learn from each other. The session will also feature European buyers providing insights on how to identify and seize market opportunities in Europe.<\/p>\n

WEIP B2B<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The B2B will be held in parallel to the event\u2019s fora and will unravel over the course of one and a half days (22 November all day, and 23 November in the morning).<\/p>\n

About 50 businesswomen will be traveling from the Southern Mediterranean to meet with respective European counterparts. The B2Bs are open to all participants, who can register on the dedicated platform.<\/p>\n

The Economic leaders from all over the Euro-Mediterranean region, representing key sectors, are expected to participate in the MedaWeek, which offers a unique opportunity to establish fruitful business exchanges.<\/p>\n

WEIP Technical Tour<\/h4>\n

As part of the package, Women Entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to visit\u00a0a\u00a0prominent local company\u00a0(3 options will be offered).<\/p>\n

The objective is to foster cross-border cooperation in the region by bringing businesses from both sides of the Mediterranean closer together. Technical tours are also designed to give hands-on feel for businesswomen, such as the delegation coming from\u00a0North Africa and the Middle East.<\/p>\n

Women entrepreneurs will be accompanied and guided by the organizers, and will have the chance to meet with leaders of these businesses while visiting the physical\u00a0production\u00a0spaces.<\/p>\n
