On 18 April, the European Commissioner for Climate Action,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/commission_2010-2014\/hedegaard\/headlines\/news\/2013-04-16_02_en.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Connie Hedegaard<\/a>, visited the headquarters of the UfM in the framework of a working mission to Spain. Commissioner Hedegaard was welcomed by Ambassador Sotiris Varouxakis, UfM Deputy Secretary General for Energy, and Mario Mariani, Executive Director for Projects.<\/p>\n<p>During her working visit, the UfM Secretariat presented to the Commissioner the advancement of UfM projects directly related to her portfolio, including the Mediterranean Solar Plan and initiatives related to environment, water and climate change.
