Barcelona, 23 November, 2012. –<\/strong>\u00a0UfM Secretary General Sijilmassi welcomed on 23 November 2012 the French Minister of Administrative Reform, Decentralization and the Civil Service, Marylise Lebranchu, at the premises of the Union for the Mediterranean, in Barcelona. Both parties discussed ways and means to strengthen the cooperation between the two shores of the Mediterranean. They agreed on the importance of delivering projects that respond to the needs of the Mediterranean populations in terms of job creation and socio-economic development.<\/p>\n

Secretary General Sijilmassi briefed the Minister on the state of play of the Secretariat\u2019s work on several key economic sectors for the future of the region and on projects and initiatives such as the Mediterranean Initiative for Jobs (Med4jobs), the Trans Maghreb Motorway, the desalination facility for the Gaza Strip, and the Euro-Mediterranean University (Euromed-UM) in Fes, as well as programs to empower women to participate fully in economic life. He highlighted that\u00a0\u201cthe projects and initiatives that the Union for the Mediterranean is developing will enhance job creation, promote young entrepreneurship and increase regional economic integration in the Mediterranean\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n

French Minister Marylise Lebranchu reiterated the French Government\u2019s full commitment and support to the actions and projects developed by UfM Secretariat. She stressed on the importance of local, regional and national public administration training in the development of international cooperation projects in the Mediterranean, as well as on the need of involvement of local and regional actors. The Minister and the Secretary General have agreed on ways to develop their collaboration during the next weeks.<\/p>\n

Les relations entre la France et l\u2019Union pour la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e et le d\u00e9veloppement d\u2019une coop\u00e9ration op\u00e9rationnelle pour mettre en \u0153uvre des projets concrets dans la r\u00e9gion M\u00e9diterran\u00e9enne ont \u00e9t\u00e9 les principaux sujets de discussion entre le Secr\u00e9taire G\u00e9n\u00e9ral de l\u2019UpM, Fathallah Sijilmassi, et la Ministre fran\u00e7aise de la R\u00e9forme de l’Etat, de la D\u00e9centralisation et de la Fonction publique, Mme Marylise Lebranchu.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Barcelone, le 23 novembre 2012.\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Le Secr\u00e9taire G\u00e9n\u00e9ral de l\u2019UpM, Fathallah Sijilmassi, a accueilli la Ministre fran\u00e7aise de la R\u00e9forme de l’Etat, de la D\u00e9centralisation et de la Fonction publique, Marylise Lebranchu, au si\u00e8ge de l\u2019Union pour la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e \u00e0 Barcelone. Les deux parties ont discut\u00e9 des moyens susceptibles de renforcer la coop\u00e9ration entre les deux rives de la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e. Ils ont convenu de l\u2019importance de d\u00e9livrer des projets qui r\u00e9pondent aux besoins des populations M\u00e9diterran\u00e9ennes en termes de cr\u00e9ation d\u2019emploi et de d\u00e9veloppement socio-\u00e9conomique.<\/p>\n

Le Secr\u00e9taire G\u00e9n\u00e9ral Sijilmassi a inform\u00e9 la Ministre des r\u00e9cents d\u00e9veloppements des travaux du Secr\u00e9tariat dans plusieurs secteurs \u00e9conomiques cl\u00e9s pour l\u2019avenir de la r\u00e9gion et sur les projets et initiatives tels que l\u2019Initiative M\u00e9diterran\u00e9enne pour l\u2019Emploi (Med4jobs), l\u2019Axe autoroutier Trans-Maghr\u00e9bin et l\u2019Usine de D\u00e9salinisation pour la Bande de Gaza, l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Euro-M\u00e9diterran\u00e9enne (Euromed-UM) de Fez et les projets en soutien de l\u2019implication des femmes dans la vie \u00e9conomique. Il a soulign\u00e9 que\u00a0\u00ab\u00a0les projets et initiatives que d\u00e9veloppe actuellement l\u2019Union pour la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e sont susceptibles de stimuler la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019emploi, la promotion de l\u2019entrepreneuriat pour les jeunes et l\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration de l\u2019int\u00e9gration \u00e9conomique r\u00e9gionale en M\u00e9diterran\u00e9enne\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Mme Lebranchu a r\u00e9it\u00e9r\u00e9 le fort engagement du gouvernement fran\u00e7ais en soutien aux actions et projets d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s par le Secr\u00e9tariat de l\u2019UpM. Elle a soulign\u00e9 l\u2019importance de la formation des fonctions publiques nationales et territoriales au d\u00e9veloppement de projets internationaux de coop\u00e9ration\u00a0 en M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e et la n\u00e9cessaire implication des collectivit\u00e9s territoriales et des acteurs locaux. La Ministre et le Secr\u00e9taire g\u00e9n\u00e9ral ont d\u00e9cid\u00e9 des moyens de d\u00e9velopper leur collaboration dans les prochaines semaines.<\/p>\n
