Side Event to the 4th<\/sup> UfM <\/strong>Ministerial Conference on Employment and Labour<\/strong><\/p>\n

1 April 2019, Cascais, Portugal<\/strong>.\u00a0The side event \u201cThe employment of Mediterranean university graduates: Bridging the employability gap between advanced skills and markets\u201d, organized by the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean in partnership with FCT \u2013 Funda\u00e7\u00e3o para a Ci\u00eancia e a Tecnologia, will be in parallel to the 4th<\/sup> UfM Ministerial Conference on Employment and Labour in partnership.<\/p>\n

One of the reasons for high levels of unemployment for Mediterranean youth is a persistent gap between the skills acquired at universities and the requirements of business. It is therefore essential to further bring closer the private and the higher education sectors for increasing the employability of graduates and researchers through an inclusive multilevel approach which takes into account higher education stakeholders, civil society, governments, companies, business accelerators, development institutions and the scientific community at large.<\/p>\n

This interactive meeting will be a venue for sharing best practices, highlighting standing challenges and offering recommendations on employability of highly trained youth. It will also be an opportunity for networking and building partnerships among like-minded institutions.<\/p>\n
