25 November 2019 \u2013 Turin, Italy<\/strong>.\u00a0Acting upon this mandate, the UfM in partnership with Deutsche Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH<\/a> commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)<\/a>, and in cooperation with the European Training Foundation (ETF)<\/a>, will co-organize the \u2018Workshop on Work and Skills for the Future<\/strong>\u2019 in Turin, Italy, on 25 November 2019 at the ETF premises. The Workshop has the objective to discuss the current challenges in skills development for economic and social integration and how these challenges can be turned into future opportunities. The expected outcomes of the workshop are on one side policies recommendations and on the other concrete follow up actions on how to brace for the future and for change in the Mediterranean region. Key thematic areas of the event include namely Entrepreneurial Skills, Digital Skills <\/strong>and Green Skills<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This one-day Workshop will bring together experts and stakeholders representing relevant sectors and disciplines from across the UfM Region to exchange views and experiences, share best practices and lessons learned, and present recommendations on how to brace for the Future of Work and harness the inevitable change in the UfM Region<\/strong> in light of the region\u2019s current realities and specificities.<\/p>\n

The Ministerial Declaration<\/strong><\/a> of the 4th<\/sup> UfM Ministerial Conference on Employment and Labour<\/strong> held in Cascais on 2-3 April 2019 placed an unequivocal emphasis on \u201cthe importance of the concertation between the government authorities and civil society organisations (\u2026) in contributing to finding sustainable solutions to the challenges of the future of work<\/em>.\u201d The Ministers welcomed the decision of ILO to place 2019 under the forward-looking topic of the \u201cFuture of Work\u201d, and underlined \u201cthe role that skills development plays to boost employability, competitiveness and growth and to address better the challenges of technological change and digitalization of the economy in the region.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
