{"id":8842,"date":"2014-02-04T19:41:48","date_gmt":"2014-02-04T18:41:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ufmsecretariat.org\/save-the-date-ufm-project-conference-on-womens-socio-economic-empowerment-projects-for-progress-2\/"},"modified":"2016-12-13T12:48:01","modified_gmt":"2016-12-13T11:48:01","slug":"save-the-date-ufm-project-conference-on-womens-socio-economic-empowerment-projects-for-progress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ufmsecretariat.org\/ar\/save-the-date-ufm-project-conference-on-womens-socio-economic-empowerment-projects-for-progress\/","title":{"rendered":"UfM Project Conference on Women\u2019s Socio-Economic Empowerment: Projects for Progress"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Barcelona, 4 February, 2014.<\/b> The Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean will organise a project-oriented conference<b> <\/b>under the title<b><i> \u2018Women\u2019s<\/i> Socio-Economic Empowerment: Projects for Progress\u2019, <\/b>next 26-27 March at its headquarters, in Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p>This two-day international and multi-stakeholder conference will gather some 200 participants, including governmental representatives, international development agencies, international organisations dealing with women empowerment and gender equality, private sector and civil society representatives, as well as promoters of current and potential future projects of the Union for the Mediterranean. The conference seeks to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Identify priority initiatives and programs\u00a0<\/b>in the field of socio-economic empowerment of women in the Euro-Mediterranean region.<\/li>\n<li>Help develop\u00a0<b>stronger synergies and coherence among key stakeholders<\/b>\u00a0in the Euro-Mediterranean region, and\u00a0<b>bring<\/b>\u00a0<b>institutional<\/b>\u00a0<b>and<\/b>\u00a0<b>financial support for specific projects advancing women empowerment.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Encourage the presentation of project proposals<\/b>\u00a0<b>with a regional dimension<\/b>\u00a0<b>to the UfM Secretariat.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The organisation of this project-oriented conference was mandated by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ufmsecretariat.org\/ar\/union-for-the-mediterranean-third-ministerial-conference-on-strengthening-the-role-of-women-in-society\/\" target=\"_blank\">Third Union for the Mediterranean Ministerial Conference on Strengthening the Role of Women in Society<\/a>,<i>\u00a0<\/i>held in Paris on 11 September 2013.
