EMEA is organising the webinar &#8220;COVID-19 in the Mediterranean and Africa: How did containment and mitigation policies perform?&#8221;, with the participation of UfM\u00a0Senior Economic Advisor,\u00a0Hamed El Etreby.\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-GB\">The webinar will discuss the effectiveness and socio-economic impacts of policy measures taken in the Euro-Mediterranean and Africa with a view to advance further in the policy response assessment at three levels:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_Default\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">1. Preparedness and effectiveness of healthcare systems;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_Default\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">2. Completeness and timeliness of COVID-19 containment policies; and<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_Default\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">3. Comprehensiveness (and solidarity) of the socio-economic mitigation policies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">This will be\u00a0the first webinar under the\u00a0EMEA research initiative on COVID-19 and motivated by the recently published study on \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/euromed-economists.org\/download\/covid-19-in-the-mediterranean-and-africa-diagnosis-policy-responses-preliminary-assessment-and-way-forward-study\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\"><i>COVID-19 in the Mediterranean and Africa: Diagnosis, Policy Responses, Preliminary Assessment and Way forward<\/i><\/a>\u201d.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0The study is the result of the collaboration of EMEA and EMNES researchers from across the Euro-Mediterranean and Africa.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>7 May 2020.
