The UfM offers a unique platform in the Euro-Mediterranean region to enhance dialogue and cooperation in these fundamental areas in accordance to sustainability criteria and always with the ultimate goal to better serve the interest of our citizens in the Mediterranean.”
Jorge Borrego was appointed Deputy Secretary General for Energy and Climate Action at the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean in 2016. Of Portuguese nationality, he holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a Senior Member and Energy Specialist of the Portuguese Engineers’ College. He is fluent in English, Spanish and French.
