The UfM warmly congratulates the\u00a0<\/span><a title=\"http:\/\/www.bsec-organization.org\/\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bsec-organization.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"0\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC)<\/span><\/a><span lang=\"EN-US\">, as it celebrates the 30th Anniversary of its founding in 1992. The UfM maintains\u00a0close relations with the BSEC, with whom it signed a Memorandum of Understanding in June 2015. Given the respective missions and areas of cooperation, as well as the geographic common areas, the two organizations are deeply committed to the reinforcement of cooperation and creation of synergies in of common interests such as combating marine litter and plastics, addressing the negative impact of Climate Change and promoting the Blue Economy, among others. Moreover, the UfM Secretariat has actively taken part in international summits such as the BSEC 25th Anniversary Summit in May 2017 in Istanbul and\u00a0<\/span><a title=\"https:\/\/ufmsecretariat.org\/\/secretary-general-participates-in-the-40th-meeting-of-the-council-of-ministers-of-foreign-affairs-of-the-organization-of-the-black-sea-economic-cooperation-in-sofia\/\" href=\"https:\/\/ufmsecretariat.org\/\/secretary-general-participates-in-the-40th-meeting-of-the-council-of-ministers-of-foreign-affairs-of-the-organization-of-the-black-sea-economic-cooperation-in-sofia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"1\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">the 40th Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the BSEC in Sofia in June 2019<\/span><\/a><span lang=\"EN-US\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Established as a platform for multilateral economic cooperation, with the signing of the Istanbul Summit Declaration and the Bosphorus Statement \u00a0by \u00a0the \u00a0Heads \u00a0of \u00a0State \u00a0and Government, \u00a0BSEC \u00a0is \u00a0today \u00a0the \u00a0oldest \u00a0full-fledged Organization in the geostrategic region of the wider Black Sea.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Throughout \u00a0its \u00a0three \u00a0decades \u00a0of \u00a0existence, \u00a0and \u00a0following \u00a0the \u00a0establishment \u00a0of \u00a0its Permanent International Secretariat (PERMIS) in Istanbul, it has asserted itself as a prominent actor in promoting peace, stability and prosperity, encouraging friendly and \u00a0good-neighborly \u00a0relations \u00a0in \u00a0the \u00a0Black \u00a0Sea \u00a0area.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>26 January 2022.
