He pointed, in this regard, to the existence of a common vision shared by Tunisia, the Arab and Mediterranean states and commitment to speak with one voice with the European partners.<\/p>\n

At the end of the meeting he had with UFM Secretary-General Fathallah Sijilmassi, Mr.Abdessalem reasserted “Tunisia’s commitment to play a key role in energising the Union For the Mediterranean” and to establish strong and deep relations with its European partners.<\/p>\n

He also said that he had discussed with UFM secretary-general means to strengthen Tunisia’s ties with this structure and achieve joint projects, such as the inter-Maghreb highway.<\/p>\n

In his statement to TAP news agency, Mr. Fathallah Sijilmassi said that his meeting with the foreign minister had been an occasion to look at prospects for developing co-operation between new Tunisia and UFM, speeding up the pace of economic development and contributing to preserving stability and peace in the region.<\/p>\n

He added that the meeting had been an opportunity to look at several projects whose furtherance will be supervised by UFM Secretariat-General.<\/p>\n
