The first working group meeting on urban development took place the past 16 March to discuss the Pre-Assessment Criteria for Urban Projects. With regards to the first working group on transport, it was held on 21 March 2011. These second meetings will discuss the Project Guidelines of the UfMS, identify specific areas of action where the UfMS can be instrumental, evaluate possible project proposals and tools that would help projects move forward. The UfM Working Group on Urban Development will also prepare for the upcoming UfM Ministerial Meeting on Urban Development to be hosted by France in autumn. Invitees include urban development specialists from focal local, regional and international governmental institutions and NGOs.<\/p>\n

Barcelona – Following the recent adoption of the Project Guidelines of the Union for the Mediterranean Secretariat (UfMS) by the Senior Officials of the UfM member countries, The Division of Transport and Urban Development (TUDD) of the UfMS is now ready to receive project proposals and is organising the second UfM Working Group Meetings on both Urban Development and Transport.
