Barcelona, 27 November 2014. UfM Deputy Secretary General for Environment and Water, Naser Tahboub, participated in the Opening Ceremony of the 2nd Mediterranean Water Forum, held in Murcia, Spain from 25 to 27 November. In his speech, Mr Tahboub highlighted the need for continued efforts and stronger coordination amongst Mediterranean actors in order to tackle priority issues in the region, which is facing growing pollution and water scarcity challenges. Today the UfM Secretariat hosted a meeting of the Committee on Energy, Environment and Water of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean (PA-UfM) at its Barcelona headquarters. The meeting gathered parliamentarians representing various member states of the Union for the Mediterranean.
