Following the 4th International One Health Conference (Rome, 2025), this side event builds on the shared outcomes of scientists, policymakers, and civil society working on integrated approaches to human, animal, and ecosystem health. The COP30 Position Paper synthesizes 10 key recommendations connecting Integral Ecology—as proposed in Laudato Si’—with the One Health and Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems (WEFE) frameworks. The Mediterranean region, highly vulnerable to climate change, water scarcity, and ecological degradation, provides a living laboratory for demonstrating how One Health principles can guide sustainable, inclusive transitions. The event will feature institutional partners, youth representatives, and international organizations to discuss governance mechanisms and actionable pathways for regional implementation.
