3rd UfM Working Group on Affordable and Sustainable Housing

15-16 May 2024, Dublin, Ireland. At the Second UfM Ministerial Conference on Sustainable Urban Development held in Cairo, Egypt on 22 May 2017, UfM Ministers in charge of housing, municipal affairs and urban development adopted the UfM Urban Agenda. In this context, the “UfM Thematic Working Group on Affordable and Sustainable Housing” was created with the initial mandate to elaborate a set of recommendations in the form of an action plan. To this end, the first and second meetings of the Working Group took place respectively in Brussels, Belgium on 20-21 September 2018 and in Paris, France on 28 February and 1 March 2019. The UfM Housing Action Plan was endorsed by UfM Member States during the Third UfM Ministerial Conference on Sustainable Urban Development that took place in Zagreb, Croatia on 4 May 2023.

After this renewal of the mandate at the Third UfM Ministerial Conference on Sustainable Urban Development, the third meeting of the working group will take place in Dublin, Ireland on 15-16 May 2024, supported by the Irish Housing Agency. The meeting will focus on sharing successful policy measures to boost housing affordability. The Working Group meeting foresees the participation of high-level officials from the relevant Ministry in charge of housing, or Housing Agencies/ Funds, from UfM Member States with a comprehensive overview of national housing policies, key regional and international partner organisations and international financial institutions, to conduct technical discussions.
