Capacity building on employment for people with disabilities in the MENA Region
25-26 June 2025, Madrid, Spain – The Union for the Mediterranean is co-organizing with the ONCE Social Group (The Spanish National Organization of the Blind) and supported by the German Cooperation Agency (GIZ), the upcoming Capacity Building on Employment for People with Disabilities in the MENA Region, scheduled for 25-26 June 2025 at the Hub Por Talento Digital in Madrid, Spain. This event will convene representatives from civil society and the private sector to address the critical issue of inclusive employment for persons with disabilities in the MENA region.
By creating a space for open exchange, this capacity building aims to help participants to:
- Identify the specific obstacles that persons with disabilities face in the employment landscape of the MENA region.
- Explore successful models and case studies from both the private sector and civil society that promote inclusive employment.
- Collaborate on actionable strategies and advocacy tools to enhance employment opportunities for people with disabilities in the region.
Over the course of two interactive days, participants will engage in insightful discussions that delve into the global and regional landscape of disability inclusion in employment. Networking opportunities, including a field visit to ONCE Installations in Madrid, will allow attendees to exchange ideas and strengthen collaborations.
