High Level Working Group on Employment and Labour (HLWG)
Barcelona, 28-29 March 2017. The UfM High Level Working Group on Employment and Labour will meet at the UfM Secretariat premises in Barcelona on 28-29 March 2017. The meeting will discuss the follow-up to the UfM Ministerial Conference on Employment and Labour which was held at the Dead Sea in Jordan on 26-27 September 2016, with a view to building a roadmap towards the next Ministerial Conference, which is scheduled to take place in 2019 .
In particular, it will explore the transnational cooperation initiatives which might be developed between interested UfM countries and actors around the key topics of the Ministerial Declaration agreed at the Dead Sea Conference i.e. job creation and entrepreneurship; youth employability and employment services, the transition from informal economy to formal employment; and the promotion of social dialogue. The discussion on each of these topics will be introduced by the presentation of concrete experiences of policies, programmes and projects in the UfM countries and will be enriched by information sessions with experts from GIZ, ETF and the ILO.
