22.11.2012: Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the UfMS and the International Road Transport Union (IRU)

UfMS Deputy Secretary General for Transport and Urban Development, Ambassador Yigit Alpogan, and Mr. Martin Marmy, Secretary General of the International Road Transport Union (IRU), will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), on the 22nd November 2012, in Geneva.
The IRU is the international road transport organization which encompasses 170 members in 73 countries and upholds the interests of bus, coach and truck operators. The IRU’s principal mission is to ensure the mobility of people and goods through the harmonization and simplification of procedures affecting trade, tourism and road transport and the removal of barriers to international transport to enhance economic development.
The UfM and the IRU share common objectives with regard to trade and road transport facilitation and wish to collaborate to further these common goals and objectives within their respective mandates and governing rules and regulations. The UfM and the IRU have agreed to sign a MoU with the aim of consolidating, developing and detailing their cooperation and effectiveness to achieve the common objectives in the field of trade and road transport facilitation through the future definition of concrete projects and common actions.
