UfM participates in the UNIMED General Assembly
25-26 October 2018, Venice, Italy. A delegation from the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) chaired by designated Secretary General Amb. Nasser Kamel will participate to the General Assembly of the Mediterranean Universities Union – UNIMED, hosted on the 25th and 26th of October 2018 by the University Ca’ Foscari of Venice on the occasion of the University’s celebration of its 150th anniversary.
The UNIMED General Assembly is a key event where UNIMED rectors, presidents and their representatives meet to exchange views, determine UNIMED policy and shape the academic calendar with regard to initiatives, activities and conferences. At the same time, it is an opportunity to host and network with representatives of international organizations, government officials, students, influential contributors to the cultural and political spheres and representatives of NGOs.
Founded in 1991 by Prof. Franco Rizzi, UNIMED is an association of 112 universities covering 23 countries on both shores of Mediterranean. UfM and UNIMED signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2014 which got renewed in 2017. On the 8th of May 2018, UfM and UNIMED co-organised with the European Training Foundation (ETF) a regional seminar on “Educational pathways: how to strengthen bridges and links between higher education and vocational training to meet the needs of the socio-economic world”.
