5 May 2025, Porto, Portugal – The voluntary and observer UfM Member States of the UfM Community of Practice on Monitoring will meet in Porto, Portugal, to discuss the draft cross-country report and the Online Tracking Tool being developed to store and visualise collected information and trends, both thematically and geographically. These will be presented at the 6th UfM Ministerial Meeting on Employment and Labour, scheduled for 14 October 2025 in Valletta, Malta.
So far, 12 UfM Member States have participated in this exercise. The meeting in Porto will also serve as an occasion to formally welcome Israel as a new voluntary UfM Member State joining the initiative.
Aligned with the Marrakech Ministerial Declaration of May 2022, adopted during the 5th UfM Ministerial Meeting on Employment and Labour, the monitoring exercise aims to foster a culture of monitoring and evidence-based policymaking to improve the efficiency of policy design and implementation. The process is coordinated and led by a Task Force comprising the UfM Secretariat, the European Commission (Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, DG EMPL), and the European Training Foundation (ETF).
The meeting will take place back-to-back with the 18th UfM Regional Platform on Employment and Labour.
