Meeting of the “Réseau Mixité et Gouvernance”
UfM Secretariat Headquarters in Barcelona, 28 – 29 May 2015
The “Réseau Mixité et Gouvernance” network is an informal network of women senior civil servants in the Euro-Mediterranean countries, placing emphasis on the ministries where there are least women, namely the ministries of the economy, finance, justice and the interior. The members share the objective of improving professional equality at high levels in the civil service and developing studies on the impact of gender diversity on public action.
With the support of the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean, the “Réseau Mixité et Gouvernance” network was officially launched on Monday 12 May 2014 in Rabat, Morocco. The Network aims to consolidate gender diversity within public administration in the countries around the Mediterranean through: reinforcing women’s role in administrations, especially economic and financial administrations; creating a network in a position to influence public policies in regard to good governance and awareness of gender diversity; creating informal networks in the Euro-Mediterranean countries for the exchange of information, experiences and sharing good practices.
The Secretariat of the UfM will be hosting the 3rd meeting of the network on 28th and 29th May 2015, to demonstrate therefore the Secretariat’s commitment and involvement in this objective of reinforcing women’s role in administrations.
