The Secretariat of the Union for the Medetirranean supports e-Learning initiatives
Lugano.- Deputy Secretary Chet participated in the first International EMUNI Symposium on e-Learning which took place in Lugano (Switzerland) on March 16-17, 2012.
The first International EMUNI Symposium on e-Learning, which was organized by the Politecnico of Corporate Business Studies of Lugano, was attended by around 20 professors and specialists in e-Learning representing the following Universities: Euro-Mediterranean University, Virtual University in Tunis, Open University of Catalonia, and Universita’UNIPSA di Lugano.
During the seminar several issues were discussed such as the implementation of a joint online master study programmes, the training of the professors and lecturers, the cooperation between the academy and the industry and the creation of an innovative EMUNI Web portal. Furthermore, it was decided to keep the “Lugano Group” which will meet every six months in order to develop concrete actions and pedagogic methods destined to adapt EMUNI to the concept of “University without walls”.
Prof. Chet presented the University of the People (UoPeople), the first global, tuition-free, online University, which uses Internet tools in order to provide high level studies to those who -due to financial, geographical, or social constraints- might otherwise never have access to regular education systems.
