17.10.2012: Euromed Summit of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions

UfM Deputy Secretary General for Energy, Sotiris Varouxakis, will participate as a speaker in the Euromed Summit of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions that will be held in Amman from the 17th to the 19th October 2012.

The event, organized by the European Economic and Social Council and the Jordanian Economic and Social Council, will debate on key challenges affecting the countries of the Mediterranean region, especially those that are currently in a process of political, economic and social transition, and the role that civil society can play in meeting those challenges.

This Summit will be the 2012 session of an event hold every year to bring together some 200 participants from economic and social councils, representatives of employers, trade unions, other economic and social interests groups and NGOs from all member countries of the Union for the Medtierranean.
