Dans le cadre de cette Ministerielle, deux événements parallèles auront lieu :
This high-level meeting, co-organised with the European Commission, will target a broad spectrum of policy makers in UfM member countries, business and financial sector in Egypt. As we recover from the COVID-19 crisis, we will seek to build back better and greener. This is even more urgent for the Mediterranean, one of the hardest hit regions in the world by the impact of climate change. All Mediterranean countries have clear common interests in taking action now. They also have a considerable potential to mitigate the drivers of climate change, including through an accelerated transition to low emission economies. Climate finance and sustainable investments will be essential to help recover better and create a more inclusive society, so that everyone can play their part. The event will look into trends, opportunities and tools to make the green transition in the Mediterranean possible.
This event, co-organised with UNDP and the European Commission, aims to share, highlight and promote the high-level political and operational efforts towards conservation of biological diversity and ecosystem restoration, with a special focus on food systems within the wider shift to green, blue, circular economy at Euro-Mediterranean level. The high-level political event will be run in hybrid format with the Host Country, UfM Co-Presidencies, High Level representatives of Governments and international, regional, intergovernmental organizations as well as academia, private sector, civil society organizations.
It will be live Streamed on the UfM YouTube channel.
