Plus de 400 000 hectares de forêts partent en fumée chaque année et au moins 16 % des espèces animales et végétales des forêts méditerranéennes sont en voie d’extinction en raison de menaces environnementales, notamment les incendies de forêt provoqués par le changement climatique. Cette année, le prix de l’Assemblée régionale et locale euro-méditerranéenne (ARLEM), qui récompense les entreprises qui dynamisent les communautés locales du sud de la Méditerranée, sera décerné dans le cadre des célébrations de la Journée de la Méditerranée. The new UfM Research and Innovation agenda supports three new research priorities: climate change, health and renewable energy. The UfM meeting of Senior Officials on 21 October endorsed the R&I platform proposal to hold an R&I Ministerial. 17 February 2022 – The UfM Regional Platform on Sustainable Urban Development convened its third meeting on 17 February 2022 in online format.
