3rd Meeting of the UfM Community of Practice on Youth Employment in the Southern Mediterranean

7th March 2023, Barcelona. The members of the UfM Community of Practice on Youth Employment in the Southern Mediterranean gathered in an online format for their 3rd meeting. On this occasion, the main priorities of the CoP and modalities for the upcoming meetings in 2023 were discussed.

The UfM Community of Practice on Youth Employment in the Southern Mediterranean was launched by the UfM following the Ministerial Declaration of the UfM Employment and Labour Ministers adopted in 2022 in Marrakech, Morocco. Acting upon this mandate, the Community of Practice on Youth Employment in the Southern Mediterranean aims to use the convening power and network of the UfM to bring together the most relevant on-the-ground actors and create a space of cooperation that collects, discusses, assesses and disseminates experience and best practices on employment and labour.

The members of the CoP had a first meeting on the 22nd of November 2022 (online), where they shared their expectations for this CoP to be a platform where knowledge and best practices for the promotion of youth employment can be exchanged and to increase synergies on employment in order to foster complementarities and maximize impact. In December 2022, they gathered again at the UfM Headquarters in Barcelona and were tasked with the activity of bringing along a case or success story to identify in small groups the critical success factors as well as the challenges and how these could be upgraded.

In today’s meeting, the members of the Community of Practice discussed further the main priorities and agreed as to what the focus should be for the next meeting, which will take place in July 2023 in Barcelona, Spain.
