Cyprus and the UfM develop stronger cooperation

Barcelona, 29 November 2012. – The Ambassador of Cyprus in Madrid, Mr. Antonis Toumazis, visited the premises of the UfM on 29 November 2012. The purpose of the visit was to sign a cooperation agreement between Cyprus and the Union for the Mediterranean through which the Government of Cyprus will support the work of the Secretariat and contribute financially to its budget.

Prior to the signature of the agreement, Ambassador Toumazis and Secretary General Sijilmassi held a meeting in which they discussed the projects of the Secretariat and the future prospects of regional cooperation in the Mediterranean region. UfM Secretary General thanked the Ambassador for the support of his government and pointed out that this agreement shows the great commitment of UfM members with the Secretariat.
