Aerospace African Forum
16 February 2023, Casablanca – UfM Secretary General Nasser Kamel was invitated to participate in and address the inaugural Aerospace African Forum, organized by “The Moroccan Aeronautic Industry Association.”
The Forum attracted a host of political decision-makers and entrepreneurs, providing a platform to assess the current status of the aeronautic sector in Africa and globally, particularly in the aftermath of the pandemic. It served as a venue for discussing forthcoming challenges and exploring avenues for cooperation.
In line with these objectives, the Secretary General took part in the “Behind the Scenes of Sovereignty” panel, alongside Mr. Hubert Védrine (Former French Minister of Foreign Affairs) and Mr. Mohammed Berrada (former Moroccan Minister of Finance and former Ambassador to France). During his participation, the Secretary General highlighted the pandemic’s and the Ukrainian conflict’s illumination of the limitations of globalization. He underscored the potential inherent in the EU’s neighboring regions as a resource to address current crises and to chart a collective course towards a shared future in the area.
The conference offered an avenue for the Secretary General to engage in bilateral discussions with significant stakeholders, including Moroccan and African Ministers, CEOs of air companies, and leaders of aeronautic firms. These interactions centered on exploring possibilities for collaboration with the Union for the Mediterranean.
