The Euro-Mediterranean University of Fes (UEMF) Constituent General Assembly took place on 24 November in Fes
Fes, 24 November, 2012. The Constituent General Assembly of the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fes (UEMF) was held on Saturday 24th November under the auspices of the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Executive Training, Lahcen Daoudi. The Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean attended the meeting and the efforts of the UfM Secretariat towards the label of the project were widely praised.
According to the statutes, adopted in the Constituent General Assembly, the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fes has been legally established as a non-profit association under the Honorary Presidency of His Majesty Mohammed VI, King of Morocco. The UEMF will develop a high-standard of education and research programmes in the fields of Science, Technology, Humanities and Social Sciences, in Morocco and in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
The Euro-Mediterranean University of Fes will become the center of a wide network of Higher Education and Research partner Institutions collaborating for the implementation of double and joint programmes and promoting the exchange of students, professors, academics and technical staff from across the region.
It also aims at serving as a link with the industry and using the technological developments carried out inside the University or in collaboration with other national and international entities to support the creation of spin-outs, start-ups and innovative companies.
