UfM Annual Report 2017

The edition of this 2017 annual report comes at a particularly engaging juncture for the Union for the Mediterranean, as it coincides with the 10th anniversary of the institution. It also comes, at the same time, at the end of my mandate as Secretary General, and is therefore a good occasion to take stock of the progress achieved since I first took office in 2012. The UfM has made significant advances during these last years, although a lot is still to be achieved in order to further enhance regional cooperation and integration in the Euro-Mediterranean region. I believe more than ever that strengthening regional cooperation and integration remains a strategic priority for the region. 2017 has been notably a very fruitful year for the institution, as it has seen the increase and amplification of concrete results on the ground for many initiatives and projects launched in the last five years.
