The award rewards the joint activity of the UfM, the Center for Transport Studies of the Western Mediterranean (CETMO) and the Mediterranean Universities Union (UNIMED) to raise awareness of the project and build the project framework.
The six-year-term project will focus during the first phase on the training activities at the intermodal platforms in Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia, which will be in operation in 2015, and it will result in a more competitive and efficient network of Euro-Mediterranean logistic platforms.
The Transport and Urban Development Division of the UfM is actively working on the promotion of two labeled projects that will improve the level of qualifications in the logistics sector and will enhance regional trade in Southern Mediterranean Member countries, respectively.
