The Secretary General stresses on the importance of implementing concrete projects

Kuwait- The UfM Secretary General Mr. Youssef Amrani took part in the Deauville Partnership Ministerial Meeting which was held in Kuwait on November 21 on the margins of the 8th edition of the Forum for the Future.
The meeting, chaired by the French Minister of State for Foreign and European Affairs Alain Juppé, reviewed the actions and achievements of Deauville Partnership and the progress that has been made in this framework since the New York meeting, held during September.
On this occasion Mr Amrani commended on the dynamism and voluntarism of the French Presidency for the G8 and its ongoing commitment towards a successful partnership especially for four country members of the UfM particularly: Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, and Jordan.
In this respect, Amrani reiterated the commitment of the UfM to this process, especially the importance of the coordinated actions within several international organizations in implementing concrete projects in areas identified as priorities by the targeted countries in Deauville partnership. The Secretary General specially shed light on the contribution of the UfM to the working group on investment security in the Mediterranean; the progress made so far on the implementation of the Mediterranean Solar Plan, and the adoption of the project which LOGISMEDTA , aims at promoting a real change in the transport sector in the countries of the southern shores of the Mediterranean.
In addition, Mr. Amrani has reaffirmed the UfM support to transition process in Tunisia, and announced that in the coming few weeks, the UfM will organize an international conference to promote investments in Tunisia and other North African countries with a special interest in supporting projects for young entrepreneurs.
The Secretary General concluded that” the UfM is willing to move forward in this partnership, through coordinating with the G8 member countries, as well as financial institutions and other involved international organizations, in an innovative process that helps in implementing concrete actions and projects, that could directly impact citizens in the Mediterranean region, through jobs creation and consolidated growth.”
