13 June 2023, Tirana, Albania – Acting upon the Marrakech Ministerial Declaration and anchoring to the “UfM Youth Strategy 2030: Euro-Mediterranean Youth towards a Common Goal”, the UfM is partnering with the German Development Cooperation to hold a UfM Conference on Youth Employment and the Future of Work in the Albanian capital Tirana on 13 June 2023 under the auspices of the Ministry of Finances and Economy of the Republic of Albania, with a focus on youth-led organisations and networks, national and regional youth support programs, as well as entrepreneurial skills for the future.
The event will be co-sponsored by the European Union, and will benefit from the active engagement of the Young Professionals Network (YPN). This event is part of the UfM Roadmap on Employment and Labour 2022-2025, implementing the Marrakech Ministerial Declaration.
The Conference will benefit from the Albanian experience in supporting youth and promoting youth entrepreneurship, notably through the Youth Guarantee scheme. It will bring together a broad spectrum of partners and stakeholders from the Social Economy to exchange insights, experiences, and best practices to address the current opportunities and challenges with respect to unleashing the full potential of entrepreneurship and improving youth employability in a rapidly-shifting labour market. It will also showcase success stories involving entities led by young people. Recommendations emanating from the Conference will guide future actions on this area of priority in the region.
