12-14 February 2025, Barcelona, Spain – The Senior Officials’ Meetings (SOM) of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) are a cornerstone of the organisation’s governance, regularly convening representatives at the level of Senior Officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the 43 Member States, alongside the European Union institutions and the League of Arab States. These meetings play a critical role in overseeing and coordinating the UfM’s activities, offering a platform to assess the progress of the Secretariat’s work.
Foreseen in the UfM Action Plan, back-to-back with the SOM, the UfM will host on 12 February 2025 the 1st UfM Inter-Institutional Coordination Meeting, gathering institutional partners from the organisation’s ecosystem, to assess the level of interactions and synergies needed between institutions, share experiences and success stories to enhance and amplify an action-oriented agenda for the Mediterranean.
On 14 February 2025 an Open Consultation on UfM Future Vision and Mandate will bring together UfM Member States, civil society, and key stakeholders to discuss the organisation’s strategic priorities in the coming years, ahead of the 30th anniversary of the Barcelona Process and the 10th Regional Forum.
