مشاريع الأمانة العامة للاتحاد من أجل المتوسط ومبادراتها التي تستهدف تحديداً تمكين المرأة والمساواة بين الجنسين تعود بالنفع على أكثر من 50 ألف امرأة في 20 بلداً في المنطقة الأورومتوسطية. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، سياسة تعميم المساواة حاضرة دائما في جميع مشاريع الاتحاد من أجل المتوسط.

بإمكان المنطقة زيادة نصيب الفرد من ناتجها المحلي الإجمالي بنسبة 25 في المائة بمنح المرأة فرصاً مساوية للرجل للمشاركة في الحياة العامة وسوق العمل.
