•The priority topics addressed were research and innovation’s role in addressing the root causes of migration and promoting ‘blue’ jobs and growth in the Mediterranean as well as the Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area – PRIMA.

• المصرف الأوروبي للاستثمار يقدم قرضاً قيمته 70 مليون يورو للجامعة الأورومتوسطية بفاس، أحد مشاريع الاتحاد من أجل المتوسط الرئيسية للمساهمة في التكامل والاستقرار الإقليميين من خلال زيادة قدرة الطلاب على التنقل دولياً والحوار بين الثقافات والتعاون في ميادين التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي والابتكار

• القرض يمثل مساهمة كبيرة من أجل إنشاء حرم الجامعة الصديق للبيئة، والذي سيستوعب حوالي 6 آلاف طالب ينتمون إلى بلدان المنطقة الأورومتوسطية كافة. يُتوقع استفادة 80 في المائة من الطلاب من تجارب القدرة على التنقل دولياً مع حصولهم على دبلومات مزدوجة.

•رحب الوزراء بجهود الاتحاد من أجل المتوسط باعتباره “منصة فريدة من نوعها للحوار والتعاون الإقليميين”، وقد أبدوا تقديرهم لـ “دوره المحوري في التصدي للتحديات المشتركة وتطوير نشاط متنامٍ يتمخض عن نتائج إيجابية ملموسة”. كما شجعوا التعاون وأوجه التآزر مع المبادرة المتوسطية للتوظيف والجامعة الأورومتوسطية بفاس والجامعة الأورومتوسطية.

•وحثّ الوزراء الأمانة العامة للاتحاد من أجل المتوسط على مواصلة نهوضها بالبعد الشبابي في جميع أنشطتها، وأعربوا عن تأييدهم الكامل لمشاريع الاتحاد من أجل المتوسط ومبادراته في ميادين البحث العلمي والابتكار والتعليم العالي، مما يعزز التنمية البشرية والاجتماعية فضلاً عن النمو الاقتصادي.
