Signature of Memorandum of Understanding between UfM Secretariat and UN Women

During his working visit to New York, UfM Secretary General Sijilmassi will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Executive Director of the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), Phumzille Mlambo-Ngcuka.

The Memorandum of Understanding is the result of the ongoing cooperation between the Union for the Mediterranean and UN Women, and aims to provide the existing relations with an official framework for collaboration and development of synergies. Both institutions share the political will to support girls and women in the Euro-Mediterranean in their quest for equality. The agreement will provide both institutions with specific mechanisms of coordination and complementarity of actions on the ground, including the joint promotion of projects and initiatives, exchange of information, regular consultations and support to events.
