The First UfM Working Group on Transport Meeting brings together representatives of the major institutions in the field

In his opening address, Ambassador Yigit Alpogan, Deputy Secretary General for Transport and Urban Development, explained the latest activities of the division and those regarding the project guidelines. Alpogan also stressed the need to work in collaboration with the Euro-Med Transport Forum and to promote the Secretariat in various platforms in order to stimulate project promoters.

The debates and exchange between the attendees produced valuable proposals such as the possible creation of a fund for transport projects to bring stakeholders together, complement the existing cooperation structure in the Mediterranean in the framework of the Trans-Mediterranean Transport Network (TMN-T), and the need for clearer eligibility guidelines.

It was recommended that the TUDD will collaborate with the Euro-Med Transport Forum and will work on the projects which are included in the priority list.
