La Valletta, 13–14 October 2025. Malta has been selected to host the Sixth UfM Ministerial on Employment and Labour, which will be held in Valletta on 13–14 October 2025. This gathering marks a key milestone in our ongoing efforts to foster inclusive growth and job creation across the Euro-Mediterranean region.
Under the joint presidency of the European Union and Jordan, the forthcoming Ministerial will convene employment and labour ministers, senior officials, social partners and civil-society representatives from our 43 member countries. Over two days, participants will engage in:
Ministerial Policy Conference (13 October)
A high-level forum addressing the future of work, with a particular focus on youth employment, women’s labour-market participation and the upskilling of the regional workforce.
Official Ministerial Meeting (14 October)
Adoption of a Ministerial Declaration setting out concrete commitments and a roadmap for collaboration on employment policies, skills development and labour migration management.
The UfM Ministerial on Employment and Labour will offer a unique platform for member states to exchange best practices on youth employment initiatives and digital skills training programmes; strengthen cooperation on gender equality and women’s economic empowerment and harmonise approaches to labour migration, ensuring protection of rights and mutual prosperity
Building on the success of the Fifth UfM Ministerial held in Marrakech three years ago, this event will reaffirm the collective commitment of UfM members to sustainable economic growth and social inclusion. The UfM looks forward to welcoming all delegates to Malta this October for two days of high-impact discussions and strategic decision-making.
