Le Secrétariat de l’Union pour la Méditerranée (UpM) s’appuie sur l’expérience estonienne pour promouvoir la transformation digitale dans la région euro-méditerranéenne. Selon l’International Data Corporation (IDC), les dépenses mondiales dans les technologies de transformation digitale étaient estimées à 1 300 milliards de dollars en 2018, en hausse de 16,8% par rapport à 2017. Social Economy constitutes a significant part of the private sector in the euromed region with more than 3,2 million enterprises and organisations and 15 million jobs. The UfM Workshop on Social Economy in the MENA Region and the Balkans is the first ever UfM event fully dedicated to social economy, with a focus on job creation, entrepreneurship and social impact. Plus de 150 représentants du secteur privé, de la société civile, de gouvernements et d’organisations internationales se sont réunis au Caire le 18 juin 2019 pour débattre des moyens de renforcer l’accès aux marchés et le commerce électronique dans la région euro-méditerranéenne. The UfM Deputy Secretary General in charge of Business Development and Employment, Rachid Maaninou, participated in Rabat, Morocco, on the Mediterranean Economy and Competitiveness Forum held on 29 April 2019.
