With the aim to foster employment opportunities, the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean will be organising on 10 October, in Beirut, the launching of the  “Skills for Success: Employability Skills for Women” project’s first phase. وقع الأمين العام للاتحاد من أجل المتوسط، فتح الله السجلماسي، والمديرة التنفيذية لهيئة الأمم المتحدة للمرأة فومزيلي ملامبو نغكوكا، اتفاقية شراكة للعمل الوثيق نحو مقررات بكين +20 وتبني مبادرات مشتركة للمشاركة الفعالة في التمكين الاجتماعي والاقتصادي للمرأة في المنطقة.

انتهت أميديست في أغسطس من اختيار الشابات المرشحات لخوض البرنامج التدريبي، والذي بدأ هذا الشهر ويستمر حتى نهاية ديسمبر.

يقدم مشروع “الفتيات كرائدات أعمال” للشابات المتمتعات بمهارات طيبة واللائي هن بصدد الانتهاء من دراساتهن الجامعية سبل الدعم والتدريب كي يصبحن سيدات أعمال ناجحات في المستقبل. ومن المزمع متابعة تنفيذ المشروع في المزيد من البلدان والجامعات بعد إثراء برنامجه بمحتوى متميز.

ضم المؤتمر حوالي 200 مشارك من أكثر من 35 دولة، وشَكَّل دفعة مميزة للحوار على الصعيدين السياسي والفني، مما سمح بتبادل الممارسات الرشيدة في مجال المساواة بين الجنسين وتوقيع اتفاقيات للتعاون والتمويل، وكذلك اطلاق مشروعات محددة.

The project was launched today on the occasion of the ‘Women’s Socio-Economic Empowerment: Projects for Progress’ Conference. Co-funding for the implementation of the first phase has been secured by Norway and Flanders. The training courses will start in the coming months in Jordan, Tunisia and Morocco, then in Lebanon and Egypt.

This UfM project-oriented conference will take place on 26-27 March 2014, at the headquarters of the Union for the Mediterranean, in Barcelona, with the aim to encourage the implementation of projects and initiatives in the field of socio-economic empowerment of women in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
