Start of the period for the submission of entries to the Catalonia Ecodesign Award 2015
Barcelona, 3 February 2015. The period for the submission of entries to the Catalonia Ecodesign Award 2015, is now open. This award, organised by the Government of Catalonia, recognises products, products under development and product-fostering strategies that are designed to improve the environmental performance of products and services over the course of their life cycle. The award has five categories, of which category E Euro-Mediterranean Design is aimed at international entrants from the 21 neighbouring countries of the Mediterranean. The Award counts on the support of SWITCH-Med, the EU funded Programme to support Mediterranean countries to shift to Sustainable Patterns of Consumption and Production, and counts on the collaboration of UNEP/Mediterranean Action Plan, UNEP/Division of Technology Industry and Economics and the Secretariat of Union for the Mediterranean.
Entries must be submitted electronically through the electronic entry submission form, located on the website of the Catalan Waste Agency (technical secretary’s office of the award), and is available in four languages (Catalan, Spanish, English and French). A Help section is also available on the same website with an explanation of the contents of the form and a series of documents to facilitate submissions (frequently asked questions, ecodesign criteria matrix, etc.). Submissions can be entered from 15th January to 28th February 2015.
The evaluation criteria of the entries are listed in the terms and conditions. The winner of each category will receive five thousand euros (€5,000), in addition to the corresponding trophy, an accreditation certificate and participation in promotional actions, such as the exhibition of the Catalonia Ecodesign Award 2015 or the Award catalogue. Besides, the Award Ceremony will be given within the scope of the SWITCH-Med Event on Oct 29th 2015 in Barcelona.
