Economic Forum of the Western Mediterranean (5+5 Dialogue) to take place next October at the UfM headquarters
Barcelona, 5 July, 2013. The Economic Forum of the Western Mediterranean (5+5 Dialogue) will be a major event under the current Portuguese and Mauritanian co-presidency of the 5+5.
In order to pave the way for the organization of this forum, the UfM Secretariat, together with the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed), formed a preparatory committee that met on 5 July, 2013, in Barcelona, consisting of representatives of the 10 governments and major business associations of the Western Mediterranean. This committee will be in charge of defining the priorities and the program of the Forum, and will hold a second meeting on 9 September, 2013.
The Forum will take place on the 23rd of October at the headquarters of the Union for the Mediterranean, in Barcelona, with H.E. the President of the Spanish Government, Mr. Mariano Rajoy, giving the opening speech.
