19.09.2011: Mediterranean Solar Plan – 2nd Working Group Financial Issues

The Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfMS), European Investment Bank (EIB) and European Mediterranean Institute (IEMed) have decided to establish a “Working Group on Financial Issues” that will represent an important building block of the MSP Master Plan process. It consists of high level experts from the public, financial, and industrial sectors, who are directly involved in the design, preparation, and implementation of projects.

The main aim of the Working Group is to analyze the key financial constraints to a larger use of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies around the Mediterranean. It will seek to identify ways to overcome these constraints, and to propose adapted schemes to attract private capital, building on the relevant expertise available at various levels. The first meeting took place on 29 March 2011.
