The Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean participates in the Mediterranean Know How 2012 Conference
Murcia. – Deputy Secretary General for Higher Education and Research, Prof. Ilan Chet, represented the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean in the opening session of the Mediterranean Know How 2012 (MKH 2012) Conference, organized by the International Excellence Campus Mare Nostrum – CMN and sponsored by the Spanish Ministry of Education.
The aim of this multidisciplinary Conference was to celebrate the culture, science and the tradition in the Mediterranean region. During five weeks starting April 16th, different kind of symposiums, talks, meetings for young researchers and cultural activities will be hosted in Murcia, in order to build a forum for exchange of knowledge, reflection, and discussion on issues related to the Mediterranean region and led by the Universities.
The Mediterranean Know How Day and the 4th EMUNI Research Souk 2012
The first days of the Mediterranean Know How were devoted to the 4th edition of the EMUNI Research Souk organized by the CMN with the support of the EMUNI University and the Hashemite University-Jordan, under the theme “Bridging Gaps in the Mediterranean Research Space.”
Deputy Secretary General for Higher Education and Research, Prof. Chet chaired the opening session and delivered a keynote address on the role of the Universities in the future of the Mediterranean globalised economy. He stressed on the high importance of the Intellectual property and the character of the Universities as potential initiators for incubators and startup companies. Furthermore, he shed light on the projects promoted by the HE&R Division; the three Master Study Programmes and the three Areas of PhD Research Programmes and its crucial role for the mobility and employability of the students. He invited the students to apply and register to these new programmes.
The EMUNI Research Souk was retransmitted simultaneously by videoconference to different Universities of the Euro-Mediterranean region which belong to the EMUNI network.
